​Our participant, Derrick Point, knows firsthand the challenges of poverty, addiction, and homelessness. πŸ’”β€‹

​After enduring abuse at residential school, he turned to alcohol and drugs, eventually finding himself homeless. πŸ‚β€‹

​But Derrick’s life took a positive turn when he sought help from Ruth and Naomi’s Mission. πŸ™β€‹

​He connected with staff, began working in the kitchen, and successfully completed the Addiction Recovery Program. 🍽️πŸ’ͺ​

​Despite a severe battle with COVID-19, Derrick persevered, graduating in June 2023. πŸŽ“ Today, he works at a lumber mill, lives in supportive housing, and continues to take steps of recovery. πŸ πŸŒŸβ€‹
